Jeff Bryant

Head Men’s Varsity Coach

Coach Jeff Bryant,  currently in his 5th year at West Ranch, started as the Junior Varsity coach in 2017 before becoming the interim Head Coach midseason in 2019. The Sylmar High School alumni began coaching in 2008 at his Alta Mater, where he played three years on the Varsity team, leading his team to the semi-Finals his senior year. As an Assistant Coach under Bory Escoto, Coach Jeff helped Sylmar win two city championships. Jeff Bryant now holds two Foothill League Championships (21,22). He has turned West Ranch into a respectful winning program. His motto is to Win with Honor.

Ben Johnson

Assistant Varsity Coach

The West Ranch graduate played for the program from 2011 to 2013, winning two league championships. Ben Johnson then went on to play College Basketball at AVC and Skyline College. He began coaching in 2017 at his Alter Mater under his High School Coach, Shant Bicakci. Ben Johnson served as Freshman/Jv head coach before becoming a Varsity assistant; now in his 5th year at West Ranch, Coach Ben is in charge of player development and team offense.  He is the first person in program history to win a league championship as a player & coach, with two each respectfully. “Everything we want is on the other side of hard.”

Andrew Cartwright

Head Men’s JV Coach

Andrew Cartwright’s experience extends over a 12year period with ten prior seasons at Canoga Park High School. He was the Head JV coach and Assistant Varsity  Coach, where he helped Canoga Park win its first city championship in school history in 2018 as an assistant. Andrew Cartwright was offered the Interim head varsity coach position in 2019 and helped the program improve by 15 wins overall between JV and Varsity. He then Helped lead the varsity program as a head varsity coach to the 2nd round of playoffs before his departure to West Ranch High School. He currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice.
